Why we joined the United Homeowner Associations
of Bloomfield Township
Almost from the date of our re-organization as a homeowners association, we understood that many of the issues that would face us would be beyond our abilities to cope as a single association. These items could include; code enforcement, township elections, taxation and dealing with Township and County officials at the same eye level.
Our initial Board of Directors were wise enough to make application to the United Homeowner Associations of Bloomfield Township. This organization was formed approximately 40 years ago by a group of concerned Township residents for the express purpose to deal on major issues facing our community at that time. Today this organization is comprised of over 60 independent Township homeowner/condo associations joined for a common purpose of collective bargaining and taking advantage of economy of scale. To date the UHOA has negotiated with local vendors for substantial discounts on homeowner association officers’ liability insurance, legal services, free association website, having a value greater than the cost of annual UHOA dues.
At each of the General Membership meetings, which are open to the membership of all member organizations, the UHOA present guest speakers and panelists that speak on current topics and happenings within the community. In many cases this is the only information source available to us on these subjects.
Given the savings and benefits that a membership in the UHOA offers, how can we afford not to?
